Welcome to '3()C'
The "Three Old Coders" is a flexible development team that, at the point of emergence, existed of three 'old' coders (*). By 'old' we mostly focus on experience in the field, although advanced age might be creeping up on some of us too ;)... Our team lives in the cloud and works together remotely through different time zones just by making use of collaboration tools like JIRA, SVN or SKYPE. We used the cloud a long time before a hugh software company started trying to "bring us into the cloud". We are strongly focused on test driven software development using agile methodologies. Our team is not limited to these original three, we have friends and colleagues who we know through experience to deliver the same excellence. All working with the conviction that a team of experts can create the best product in the shortest time.
Since 2009 we worked together for customers located in Germany (Brands4Friends, AdScale), Switzerland (FashionFriends), Brazil (BrandsClub, ClickOn), Turkey (Grupfoni), Russia (KupiVip), India (Fashion&You) and Dubai (Sukar) and wrote high performance, scalable and cluster-aware software based on JAVA and 100% Open Source tools. Even we like our home office we do not hesitate to visit any country when being invited by our customers...
Our team has a broad spectrum of expertise and we have found that standards can serve a purpose. In internet-development we would never have gotten such a strong internet if it weren't for standards governing the use of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Yet sometimes 'de facto' standards proof a superior experience. As such we make use of Open Source projects like Hibernate, Spring, Terracotta, Hazelcast, Voldemort and Tapestry 5, rather than using EJB's and JSF. Which is not to say that we cannot use, or have no experience in Sun's standards, we have actually made a deliberate choice to stay clear of them after our experience has proven them unfit.
(*) To be honest two of us are really old, one of us just looks old.
Frameworks
Here is a list of some of the frameworks we work with every day. We've limited this list to our votes of popularity rather than attempting to list all the frameworks that our members know how to work with.
Social Media
Certainly not a topic to be underestimated or forgotten is the social aspect of the web. People like to be part of a comunity and when they find something to their liking they tend to share this with their peers, what better way to get advertised! We have already started making our own components to make this easy to do in your project and the list may yet be small, it will only keep growing:
Payment Providers
Making money with a webshop is of course a rather important aspect of the whole application and we've had our share of experience with building a shop. We have integrated a few different providers and this list too, shall grow with time. We will list all of the ones we've encountered and for our opinion on them, you'll have to ask us during the project kick-off meeting...
. A portal to many different payment methods and it works in most parts of the world, this is usually our default provider.
. Cashu is especially of interrest if you need to provide a reliable Arabic payment option.
. We have implemented this at the request of a client, we did not ask for the reasoning behind this choice.
